1. The main body of the electrochemical cell is customized with PEEK, which is sturdy and durable. The internal size of the chamber are 35x25x40mm (length x width x depth). The single chamber volume of this electrochemical cell is 30ml.

2. The cathode chamber and anode chamber of this electrochemical cell are independent and need to be separated by an ion membrane. The effective area of the membrane is φ20mm.

3. The design of a square inner cavity can greatly shorten the distance between the light and the surface of the working electrode, as well as the distance between the working electrode and the counter electrode, effectively reducing internal resistance.

4. The working electrode and reference electrode are in the same chamber, which can effectively reduce the R drop.

5. The working electrode chamber design is equipped with sampling hole. The gasket is made of silicone material, and the sampling needle is a side hole needle, which ensures that the sampling process remains sealed.

6. Both chambers are designed with electrolyte circulation ports. If not used, it can be blocked.

7. Both sides of the chambers are designed with embedded nuts, which is easy to install and operate. Assemble the chambers on both sides into one unit using four long stainless steel screw rods.

8. The upper end of the chamber is sealed with an embedded fluorine rubber O-ring, and the upper cover is tightly sealed. At the same time, the connection between the short stainless steel screw rod and the chamber is also designed with embedded metal screws, extending its service life.

9. Reference electrode can be purchased separately: silver chloride electrode, silver ion electrode, calomel electrode, mercurous sulfate electrode, mercuric oxide electrode, etc.

10. Comparison electrodes can be purchased separately: platinum wire electrodes, platinum sheet electrodes, graphite electrodes, etc.

What volume of electrochemical cell is suitable to choose?

The volume of the electrolytic cell should be selected moderately. If the volume is too large, the amount of solution will be too much, which is unnecessary. During electrochemical measurement, the electrode surface undergoes oxidation and reduction reactions, and some substances in the solution are reduced by participating in the electrode reaction. At the same time, some reaction products will dissolve into the solution. If the volume of the electrolytic cell is too small, the solution concentration will change significantly during the long-term steady-state measurement, which will eventually affect the experimental results. In most cases, the volume of 50ml and 100ml are more choices.

How to choose a working electrode?

Common working electrodes include disk electrodes and replaceable electrode holders. The disk electrode is suitable as the base of the modified material, and it is modified to the base area of the disk electrode by mixing a membrane solution or the like with a powdered material. Hg2SO4 reference electrodes are generally suitable for sulfuric acid or sulfate systems.
